A small vacation

Over winter break we had the opportunity to take a needed break. We had an incredibly busy 2009 and spent the first two weeks of break pretty much in an inert state. Diane and I are beginning to understand the dynamics of exhaustion (if that's not oxymoronic). The last week we spent in a place full of BFA tradition. It's an old hotel in a ski town that has faded from Alpine fashion. For a pretty inexensive price we rented some rooms, kitchen included. We pre-packed all our food (its so cold there you just keep it frozen in your car or on the windowsills). Our floor held many other families from Kandern and time was divided between games, reading, sledding, and sleeping.

Narragansett readers might recognize the guy in the gray sweater.
